We interviewed Camilla Fredriksen, National Manager for Diplom-Isbilen, and Silje Winger, System and Marketing Coordinator, about their experiences with the integrated POS and loyalty solution from ExtendaGO and Diller.
Why did you choose ExtendaGO POS and Diller loyalty?
We had a fairly simple loyalty program before and were recommended the ExtendaGO POS by our supplier, Knowit. For us, a POS without a loyalty program was not an option, and since ExtendaGO had Diller Loyalty integrated, that’s what we chose.
What kind of loyalty program do you have today?
Today we use fixed deals, stamp cards that automatically give discounts at checkout, monthly campaigns, and various value coupons that we send out to customers. We’ve now completed the first phase, where we set up a solid foundation that works perfectly.
If you’re a member of Diplom-Isbilen’s club, you can choose a favorite stop in the app. This lets customers see the date of the next visit, receive push notifications when the truck is on its way, track the truck live on the map, and even order Diplom-Isbilen home delivery.
Customers can sign up for the loyalty program in several ways: via the website, in the app, by scanning a QR code, or directly with the ice cream sellers driving around. It’s important for us that customers can easily and quickly join our loyalty program.
Diller is easy to manage for Diplom-Isbilen, the user interface is intuitive and simple, and we look forward to developing the program further to make it even better for our customers.
What results have you seen so far?
We already see that our loyalty members buy more and shop more often from Diplom-Isbilen.
Among our customers, members now clearly outnumber non-members, which shows that customers value the benefits our loyalty program provides.
When new features are introduced, developers are closely involved throughout the implementation period and frequently send us updates during the rollout. This creates a lot of enthusiasm on our side when a supplier is so engaged!
Tell us a bit about the integration between ExtendaGO, Diller, and the app
We were developing a new app for Diplom-Isbilen, and in that context, we also wanted a new POS provider and loyalty program. The app developers, Extenda, and Diller collaborated to find the best solution, resulting in a seamless, intuitive, and user-friendly app with an integrated POS and loyalty program. In addition, a custom stamp card solution was developed for us.
All the providers contributed well to meet our needs, and we also helped shape ExtendaGO and Diller to work optimally for both our customers and sellers.
The team at Diller has truly been committed to our success. They go the extra mile, and their support is excellent – we always get answers the same day!
ExtendaGO has also contributed to a lot of positive development, and we are now working together on new future projects. We’re curious to see what Diller and ExtendaGO will launch next and look forward to following their innovations.
How do you train employees to recruit new members?
It’s important to us that every customer has a great shopping experience – we truly want to be the joy-spreaders in the neighborhood. We have long waiting lists every year, so our sellers are carefully handpicked. We look for people with that “something extra”!
Our sellers know that Diplom-Isbilen’s loyalty program is designed to give something back to members, and they are very skilled at recruiting new members. In fact, we’ve doubled our membership numbers this year compared to last.
