The Diller team interviewed Store Manager Matilda Mannila in Partyland Finland to learn about their experience with Diller.
Why did you start a loyalty program?
We wanted to connect better with our customers, and to have them stay with us because they feel that they get the best possible customer service. Basically, we wanted them to stay with us and not go to competitors, by delivering good deals and excellent service.
How did you learn about Diller?
Partyland Norway, with their 20 nationwide stores, was already using the Diller solution, so my boss got in touch with Erik at Diller’s Support team – and we got started from there. I had a meeting with Erik and we set up the loyalty program in short time – he’s always been a great help to me.
After a while we started using MarketingPlatform for automated marketing, and Charlotte at Diller has been such a good help with getting this up and running as well.
What kind of results have you seen so far?
We’ve been getting quite a lot of members in our four stores, so we’re very happy about that. Every store is committed to recruiting members!
What kind of campaigns are you planning?
We strive to have many new members when our big season starts in the Fall, with Halloween in particular. We’ve planned a pre-Halloween sales with 2-3 weeks of 20% off everything – but only for members.
We use email and SMS in combination to communicate with members, with SMS as a reminder. This seems to work very well for us.
How do you recruit new members?
We recruit in the stores, attracting customers with “members only” benefits, and using social media. In the stores we also have QR codes, so that it’s quick and easy to become a member. Our customers usually say yes when we ask them, especially if they get a good deal for signing up. We get their phone number to register them, so it’s all quite easy. Training employees have been easy as well, and if there any issues, I am the person to contact.
What are your plans for the future?
With Diller integrated in the POS, it’s quick and easy to recruit members at every sale, and our goal going forward is to get more new members every month.
We also have plans to integrate the loyalty program with our webstore before Halloween season starts. Online shoppers should also get the chance to become members and get good benefits.
